(continued from previous page).
A two standpipe piezometer
nest was completed in each borehole, with the exception of GMW98-8
where only one standpipe was installed. The nested piezometers
consisted of a 38 mm diameter standpipe installed as close to
the borehole as feasible, and s shallower 25 mm diameter standpipe
installed as close to the borehole bottom as feasible, and a shallower
25 mm diameter upper standpipe.
The standpipes that
were installed consisted of galvanized steel blanks complete with
1.5 metre slotted screens at the downhole end. Each borehole was
backfilled with pea gravel. A clay seal was installed to separate
the two standpipes in each borehole.
